Warranty guidelines

 

INTRODUCTION:
 
For consumer goods the burdon of proof is reversed for the first 6 months after purchase of the goods, meaning that assumed defect was present at the time of sale. The seller has to prove the opposite.
In general warranty of consumer goods covers a period of 2 years and can only be reduced to 1 year if products have been used. In all cases (except for the first 6 months) the burden of proof lies with the consumer.
 
 
SHOES:
 
TennisPlanet generally grants a half-year warranty on tennis shoes in regard to material or production defects from date of purchase.
 
Warranty reasons for shoes:
 
  • General stitching defects (seams, yarn problems etc)
  • Scratches on upper material
  • Abrasion throughout the entire material
  • Discoloration
  • Smudged colors
  • Bad fixation of seams
  • Loose upper material
  • Torn tongue
  • Inflammation of the foot due to incorrect material of tongue
  • Inflammation of the foot due to incorrect material in heel or fore foot.
  • Incorrect gluing of inner and outer material
  • Breakage of the sole
  • Uneven sole with different patterns
  • Different models
  • Different sizes
  • Incorrect delivery
 
Excluded from warranty:
 
  • Water spots or white edges on the upper material due to moist and sweaty feet.
  • Any damages due to uncommon use of shoes
  • Worn down soles due to excessive use
  • Slight scratches on the upper material
 
Tip: If your shoes show abnormal damage within 6 months after purchase we recommend choosing another model as replacement. There is a high possibility the same problems will occur with the same replacement model.
 
 


CLOTHING:
 
TennisPlanet generally grants a half-year warranty on tennis clothes in regard to material or production defects from date of purchase.
 
Warranty reasons for clothes:
 
  • Defects in material/ yarn
  • Abrasion/ tears throughout the entire material
  • Discoloration
  • Smudged colors
  • Bad fixation of seams
  • Discontinued seams
  • General defects within the material
  • Errors in fitting (f.e. different length in sleeves etc)
  • Overstretched material (only with new merchandise)
  • Unreasonable size variations
  • Holes within the material
 
Generally warranty of clothing is only granted with errors due to fabrication. Warranty request are only accepted after consultation with our customer service. Replacement of goods can only be honoured 10 days after receiving of the goods. Textiles are only eligible for return if not previously worn. Uncommon use of textiles is not eligible for return. Please examine clothing before washing for proper fit and any damages.
 
 
RACKETS:
 
TennisPlanet generally grants a one-year warranty on tennis rackets in regard to material or production defects from date of purchase.
Warranty can only be granted if racket has been strung properly and was not subject to extraordinary stress or impact. Aluminum or fused tennis rackets are granted with a warranty period of 3 months.
 
Warranty reasons for rackets:
 
  • Breaks and cracks occurring below the 3 and 9 o’clock position of the racket head all the way down to the grip of the racket.
  • Rattle within the racket that does not disappear after removing the grip shell and butt cap.
  • Distortion of the racket head
  • Collapsing or caving in of the graphite bridges between grommets
  • Inward bending of the graphite bridges between tubing while stringing
  • Breakage of grommets without any impact from ball, surface, shoe, net etc…
  • Loose grip (a grip that is not properly fixed to the new, unused frame and in rare cases can be pulled out)
  • Defective parts of new rackets with reference to grip shells, butt caps and grommet strips, provided no force, impact or transport damage etc has occurred.
 
Excluded from warranty are:
 
  • Rackets not strung in accordance with the stringing guidelines. Several manufacturers instruct the racquets to be strung in 1 or 2 pieces. On our website you can find stringing instructions of most rackets. Several manufacturers provide stringing instructions on their own websites.
  • For considerable impact marks on the side or face of the frame resulting from contact with hard objects or court surface. The breakage point does not have to match the point of impact. Possible damages are: scratches, cracks, breaks, etc.
  • If, the breakage is above 3 or 9 o’clock position on the racket head.
  • Flaws within the paint.
  • If racket shows more than 1 break/ crack
  • If the racket has been exposed to extreme heat (over 800 C), f.e. when left on the dash of a car in the sun; this can be recognized by a slightly rippled surface of the tennis racquet on the side exposed to the sun.
  • If tubings are broken due to impact from outside like, shoes, surface, balls, net etc.
 
If your racquets shows any damage which is not explained above, we suggest you to call us and to explain the occurrence of the damage.
 
 
BAGS:
 
TennisPlanet generally grants consumers a 3 months warranty on tennis bags with regard to defects in workmanship or materials for a period of 3 months from date of purchase.
 
On zippers there is a 1 month warranty.
 
 
STRINGS:
 
TennisPlanet does not grant any warranty on strings. Strings are under impact from outside forces constantly. Also ground surface, weather, playing skills etc have big influence on the string.
 
If the string shows damage when pulled out of the packaging please inform us directly. Customer service will request you to send a digital picture so they can analyze the problem.
 
If the string breaks during stringing?
Please first make sure your clamps (stringing machine) does not show any rough surfaces and make sure the grommet of your racquet does not show any sharp surface. If the 2 possible reasons are not the problem please call us.
 
 
DAMPERS:
 
On dampers we do not grant any warranty.
 
 
GRIPS:
 
On over- or replacement grips we do not grant any warranty.
 
 
STRINGING MACHINES:
 
On stringing machines we grant a 5-year warranty period. On the clamps and electronic parts we granta 1-year warranty period.
 
If you wish to return a stringing machine which is not in the warranty period, our Technical department will repair the product. For shipping back a fixed fee of £90 is charged. Labour costs are £ 45 per hour with a minimum of 1 hour. Costs for spare parts will be charged separately. Costs for any repairs by our Technical department are thus a minimum of £135 including shipping.
 
Costs mentioned above will also be charged if the machine is sent back for a check-up. This also applies tomachines which are in the warranty period.
 
Repair/service will take about 4 weeks maximum. Of course we will do our best to arrange repair/service as a priority. We do not supply replacement product on a temporary basis.
 


BALL MACHINES:
 
On our TYGER Ball machines we grant a 1-year warranty period.
 
If you wish to return a stringing machine which is not in the warranty period, our Technical department will repair the product. For shipping back a fixed fee of £ 90 is charged. Labour costs are £45 per hour with a minimum time of 1 hour. Costs for spare parts will be charged separately. Costs for any repair by our Technical department are thus a minimum of £135 including shipping.

Continuous maintenance on a ball machine increases the long life of a ball machine. Therefore please make sure the inner part will be vacuum cleaned frequently. Dust, clay, felt, moisture can infect the mechanic and electronic parts inside.
 
Please make sure the (shooting) wheels will be roughened frequently with the rasp/file. If not the balls will not picked up and the machine will stop shooting balls.
 
 
ON- AND OFF-COURT MATERIALS:
 
TennisPlanet generally grants consumers a half-year warranty on
ON- and OFF-court materials, with regard to defects in workmanship or materials for a period of 6 months from date of purchase.
 
 
WINDBREAKERS:
 
We cannot give any guarantee on ‘personalized’ windbreakers.
 
 
TENNIS BALLS:
 
TennisPlanet generally grants warranty on tennis balls in regards to material or production defects:
 
  • If when unused balls are flat directly after opening the pressurized can
  • If the can is already open at delivery
 
TYGER offers extended warranty:
 
  • If felt is peeling off within 5 hours of play
  • If rubber core breaks within 5 hours of play
 
Excluded from warranty:
 
  • If tennis balls are used in a ball machine. Due to the impact from the ball machine the felt lifetime will be shorter
